Lenecia was destined to be in the entertainment and fashion industry. She grew up watching Westerns and Classic Cinema with her mother and grandfather.  Since early childhood, she loved to perform and dress up. What little girl doesn't like to play dress up? Her grandmother taught her how to sew when she was 8 years old, making dresses for her baby dolls and barbies.  At the age of 12, Lenecia took a greater interest in fashion when she found some Old Cosmopolitan magazines that were her mother's. She loved the vintage looks.  She also found body scketches that were her mother's from when she was a buyer in NYC. Lenecia began to use these body sketches to draw her own fashions. She began making patterns out of brown paper bags for her clothes and costumes.  At times, her fashion sense wasn't very popular at school, since she had a very unique and eccentric style. However, this did not deter her from wearing her creative fashions and hairstyles.She enjoyed being different.  In retrospect, this old soul was really ahead of her time, making some  bold statements.

 

In 2004, Lenecia began her acting career on stage, later to begin film. While working in NYC in the production office for the feature film NOTORIOUS, Lenecia was exposed to all the elements of film production.  This opened her eyes to the endless possibilities. She knew one day that she would find herself producing. While shopping at a wardrobe sale for the feature film Brooklyn's Finest, Lenecia got the notion that she could costume the  actors as well. In 2013, Lenecia made one of her dreams a reality. She started Opal Eye Entertainment, LLC. Her company focuses on producing faith based and conscious  films, with their motto "Changing the World, One Film At a Time". Her first short film, The Gift, was set in 1942. Lenecia not only wrote, produced, and performed in the film, but she also built the set and wardrobed the actors to embody the era. From there, Lenecia knew what her next endeavor would be....Opal's Close!

 

Opal's Closet not only specializes in vintage looks, but it also styles and costumes for fashion shows, events, parties, photo shoots, and films. Additionally, we dress movie sets and parties  to give it the authentic look of its time. Roaring 20's, Flirty  50's, Soulful 70's....any theme or era...we've got you covered!
